Fundraising Events Internship at Oxfam Ireland - Trailtrekker
Location: Dublin, City Centre
Responsible to: Community Events Manager
Allowance: Local transport costs and lunch
Hours of work: Both Part time and full time, five days per week (flexible hours)
Main Responsibilities
The Intern will assist the events team in all aspects of Oxfam’s major new event - Trailtrekker.
- Assisting with ongoing recruitment of teams
- Responding to email and telephone enquires from new and existing teams
- Developing and implementing the strategy for Trailtrekker volunteer recruitment and management.
- Assisting with team mail outs and any other administrative duties as directed by the events team
- Assisting with recording events data in Oxfam Ireland’s database in line with procedures
- Researching possible sponsors for Trailtrekker
Key Skills
- A desire to end the injustice of poverty around the world
- Interest in fundraising events and in NGOs
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Accuracy in written work and data processing
- Strong organizational skills and self motivated
- Positive attitude, particularly to learning new tasks and skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good English and telephone manner are essential
